Yes, for safety we bring a chrono to every battle and we test all 
markers before we start.  We used to use 280fps as the limit, but in the 
last battle we dropped down to 250fps with no significant change in the 
battle.  So, we will keep the limit at 250fps or even move it lower if 
the guns continue to work well.

For homemade pressurized systems (like Chris') there will also be a 
pressure limit because we don't want any systems blowing up in someone's 
face.  We learned that lesson the hard way in the warship combat hobby 
when we watched a boat literally explode, split in half and immediately 
sink. The idiot (yes, he was an idiot) who built the pressure system 
thought a toilet float could hold liquid FREON filled to the brim.  When 
the sun heated it just a little, he learned a physics lesson as the 
thing exploded a few feet from his face.  Fortunately, nobody was hurt, 
but he definitely had to change his underwear :-)
