Whenever I try to talk to my wife about... well, almost anything... she
listens very politely, and then halfway through she says, "I'm sorry
honey... I tuned out when you said, '[insert appropriate term, like gear
reduction ratio]' -- was any of that really important?"

And no, cat's don't count.
