Here is some information from the Macleans magazine dated May 15/06
The American army in Afghanistan requested the help of the Canadian
sniper unit. Five men assisted.
The longest ever recorded sniper kill in combat was by Cpl Rob Furlong, a
Canadian sniper, of a distance of 2,430m.
"Us commanders who served along side the snipers nominated all five for
the covented Bronze Star medal. "Thank God the Canadians were there,' is
how one American soldier put it."
This should be a great time for Canada.. but read the rest of the
article of how the last goverment and military treated them. It really
stinks.
On one last note of my raving..... Edmonton Oilers won last nite.. in San
Jose. Here is a quote from the Calgary Sun.
SAN JOSE, Calif. -- San Jose Sharks fans were in a nasty mood last night,
loudly booing the Canadian national anthem before the start of Game 5 of the
Western Conference semifinal.
Annemarie Martin had barely began singing O Canada when many in the sellout
crowd of 17,496 began booing.
The sound was so loud it nearly drowned out Martin.
As the song progressed the booing decreased and some Shark fans joined in
singing the Canadian national anthem.
Why do that?
This was sent to all for information purpose only.... not to get a fight
going or arguments... we are all brothers and sisters... the border between
the best countries in the world is just a line...
United we stand... Canada USA.. Garnet
