Hello everyone.

After ages of messing around, it's finally here. I've got 374 feet of
table top conveyor chain (read: 1/6 scale tank track) in my living room.

I wrote about this track, offering it to you guys, some time ago. I
apologize for the long wait. I don't have an explanation, as I wasn't
given one myself. The guy I got it from, who works at the Gatorade plant
in Phoenix, AZ, intercepted this track on its way to the trash and offered
it to me. Then he disappeared for quite a while, and then mysteriously
reappeared and asked if I still wanted the chain. He didn't say what had
happened, and I didn't ask. Whatever happened, it's finally ... FINALLY
... here! (And wow, is there a lot of it.)

So, here are the specs: It is Rex (Rexnord) 5705 MatTop chain. 4.5 inches
wide, 0.5 inches thick, with a 1.5 inch pitch. Polyester plastic,
perfectly smooth on one side, it is very tank-tracky looking on the other
side (see the pic). 420 pound chain strength. It weighs 0.72 pounds per
foot. (And is FDA approved for direct contact with food, just in case you
ever feel like eating something you've run over. Hmm.)

Here is the URL for more info:

http://www.rexnord.com/flattop/product_selection/rex_chains_details.asp?chain_code=5705%28MTW%29&series_code=5700&chain_description=Rex%AE+5705+%28MTW%29+MatTop%AE+Chain

Yes, the URL really is that long. If that doesn't work, search on the
number 5705.

I've also attached a picture that I swiped out of the PDF you can download
from that site. The stuff I've got is a brown, rather than grey.

IT IS NOT NEW. It is worn on both surfaces, though not badly. However,
nothing I've seen on it would seem to compromise its strength. All the
wear seems to be on the surfaces, not the pins. I pulled several pins and
they're all in great shape. Considering the treatment it will get in tank
service, the wear is moot.

The price I am asking is $2 a foot. Not exactly free, but only enough to
cover my expenses ($400 to ship it here), figuring that I won't sell all of
it, and rounded up to the nearest dollar - all surplus will go to placating
my wife who is on the verge of killing me for spending $400 to fill her
living room with this stuff. I take PayPal, personal checks, trade, etc,
just ask, I'm easy. (Anyone have a case of Moxie? I can't get Moxie
around here.) Shipping will be by USPS parcel post, and will vary
depending on where you want how much of it sent. By way of example,
shipping 20 feet of it (15 pounds) from NY to CA will be $24.

Any interest?

Bill
