Yea, by funny bearings i mean the stuff that kicks it forward to engage
the flywheel. This motorbike starter doesnt have that bit. It looks and
works like a normal motor. Not sure about the reversibility of it
though. Ive never tried it.

One of the robotwars entrants used starter motors to drive his bot, but
then those battles dont last very long. 

As far as strength is concerened, it has more that any tank should ever
need.  A friend of mine uses one attached to a whinch that launches his
rc gliders for him. ( he used a normal car starter though - wanter the
thing disengaged so he could roll out the cable.
