A cheap (under $20) reversible proportional speed controller is hard to
find. One that's close ($29) is the Scorpion Mini from Robot Power that
I've been using in the Cromwell turret rotate.

So far it is working well. I had to modify it for 24v operation by removing
the onboard voltage regulator (easy to do).
