I'm using 1/2" flanged ball bearings due to the fact I have a whole lot of them, but you could also use brass bushings.

Greetings to all,

I am getting ready to cut out my road wheels and began to wonder what I should use instead of just axle to wood? I am using aluminum rod for the road wheel axles (I am beginning to think this was mistake because it is just slightly larger than the advertised 1/2" dia..) and began to wonder what everyone else is/has been using. Is aluminum-to-wood okay, or should it be sleeved with something. All suggestions will be considered. Thanks
