I hadn't planned on using any kind of slippage type gearing on my Tiger due to the fact the RS80D is running 80a per side.  I have put a 70a breaker (breakers are rated up to 48V and being run at 24V) between the motors and the RS80D which should prevent any damage from occuring to the controller or the motors if they ever reach a stall state.  Would that be extremely unwise or just not the prefered method?

#35 chain/sprockets is more than sufficient and has been battle tested
by many vehicles. A number of guys are moving to the #25
chain/sprockets to save weight/space with good results as well. Since
we have slippage built into all track designs (either friction drive or
a belt/pulley stage) the #25 is also strong enough.
