The two support vehicles with the most battle hours, Goer and UN
vehicle, both use kiddie car motors (KCM) with direct drive, which gives
them a 2-3 MPH speed. Those vehicles were built primarily to be
inexpensive support vehicles, so speed is not the important.
The next generation wheeled vehicles in Maryland will use more powerful
motors to achieve faster speeds, but that will involve a more
complicated drive train and a higher cost. So, only time (and battles)
will tell how well ACs do on the battlefield.
