I tested my tank with a low end camera installed, $50. It works pretty well 
if you don't stray to far from the receiver.
I tested mine in usual tank testing ways, ran over bricks, logs, through 
bushes, down stairs and it never failed. You can't see a thing when your 
actually going over rough terrain but the camera still works when you stop 
the tank.

I can see why you would have trouble aiming the shots, the picture is pretty 
clear but small objects and shadows seem to be issues (at least with the 
camera I bought).

I would suggest just using the camera to aim the tank in the general 
direction of the enemy and using your eyes to actually "hit" the enemy, it 
would just help (especially with the super speedy tanks, Steve) to make 
flanking runs, and not dye of exhaustion during a battle (especially if the 
aus battling season is in summer!) Less running around in the heat is a good 
thing.
