Steve....I guess you are right.....before I bought the tablesaw and drill press, I was using 30 year old portable power tools(sabre saw, cordless drill, belt sander, circular saw).
 
These assorted antique tools were definately not ideal, but I built most of my first tank with them.

Would say most important tool in a tanker shop is the brain of the builder, for no matter how many cool tools you have if you got no skill to use them then might as well have none at all.

 

The brain is sort of important but the most important thing required to actually build one of these is DETERMINATION!
