Ralph has built CNC routers for cutting full-size sheets of plywood and
doing 3D countours. He has the 3D machine out at his shop (I think it
has a 3x3' table) and the big one is at a shop up near Baltimore... but
he's trying to get it back.
These machines were previously used to cut formers for laying up
fiberglass hulls for 20+ foot trimarans and plugs for daggerboard molds.
The controller works from standard AutoCAD files.
