I built two of the jumbo servo boards and they both worked fine (one was 
missing a couple cheap capacitors, but that's no big deal).

One of the boards was attached to a 6 rpm geared motor, while the other 
was attached to a 20 rpm motor.  Although the 6 rpm motor was stronger, 
it moves a little too slow for the feedback circuit, causing some 
studdering when it nears the target point.  The faster motor works 
better with the circuit and still has plenty of power for elevating the 
gun (even without the counter balance weight).

I would go with the 18 rpm version you cited above.
