So, If EV Warriors are no longer available, what is the next most dependable
replacement in the 12 volt realm?

Thanks all for the great information.  It will be nice to have all the info

Well, I had originally decided to build a Panzer II, and I ordered two 12
volt 
Dewalt motors with matching three speed gear boxes from robotcombat.com,
along 
with drive shafts to fit them from teamdelta.com. I have to say that size
wise 
drill motors seem like the ideal solution for powering low profile tanks. I 
decided to steer clear of the 24 volt versions, since their increased power 
comes with a doubling in battery weight and I was shooting for a fully loaded

weight of 50 lbs with the Panzer II.

I've since decided to drop the Panzer II idea for a 36" (1:7.25 scale) T-62, 
since it'd be a more well rounded tank for my first build (40/4 rating, 
compared to 30/2 rating). So, I guess I'll find out soon enough if the 12
volt 
drill motors can power a MBT. I will point out that the 12 volt DeWalt with 
it's gearbox (450 RPM - 29 foot lbs) seems to have more potential than the EV

Warrior on 12 volts with the 1:9 ratio (246 rpm - 32 foot lbs)  that seems to

be the standard. The DeWalt could be geared down to the same RPM and be
putting 
out over 50 foot lbs.
