I had considered the idea of attaching a timing belt inside the center of a
conveyor or treadmill belt. That way the timing belt could serve to drive the
vehicle and double as a form of tracking tab, and it would be considerably
cheaper than trying to find a timing belt several inches wide. My main problem
was coming up with a good way to connect the inner timing belt to the outer
conveyor belt.
Personally, now I'm leaning towards a neoprene version of the TTS... using a
neoprene conveyor belt sandwiched between strips of harder neoprene (with a
similiar durometer rating to tire tread).
