Chris--  I'm new to this hobby so I have no knowledge of the early tracks.  Were chains as described by Derek considered unsuitable for some reason?

On another tack-- Has anyone ever used or considered using kevlar timing belts as the basis of the track?

Derek--  Nice work.

Derek,
I read your description and I'm getting a picture of the bicycle chain
tracks used on the early tanks in this hobby. Correct me if I'm wrong.
