Okay, so I'm done toying with the idea of doing a
prototype jdpz E-10 and on to other ideas. I really like the Soviet SU-85
or SU-100 variants of the basic T-34 hull. I also really like the
Jagdpanzer IV/48 and IV/70.
I've borrowed unbuilt plastic model kits of the
Su-85 and the jdpz IV/70 from my brother in order to make templates of one of
them for scaling up to the 1/6th scale size. I'd like to know if any of
the group here has experience with the James DeSimone kits? They certainly
are inexpensive relative to other offerings but I'm leery of purchasing an
unknown. I've email him a short list of questions but his replies don't
really satisfy my need of information. I found this site http://kanowarrior.tripod.com/actionfiguresatwar/id64.html which
is an SU-85 conversion of the hull. The T-34 is $125 shipped from
California. I need to know if anyone has seen one before and if you think
that it will withstand the rigors of battle. We don't build static GI Joe
diorama models here do we? All in all though, the one presented here is
quite nice looking.
Thanks,
Mike
