Hi John,
There are both 27 & newer 49mhz versions of the
Stuart. The newer 49mhz versions are difficult to
hack due to the use of a combined RF mixer/decoder IC
as compared to the earlier 27mhz versions that used a
separate decoder.
The small brushed motor & geardrive that fires the
javelin in the stock Stuart doesn't have enough power
to trigger a marker. That's why I opted for servos
to trigger the marker and for elevation/depression.
I'm finishing up another Stuart paintball conversion
now that includes skid-steer mixing along with
proportional speed control via SSRs. As usual it'll
keep all the stock sound effects and uses a .40cal
Splatmatic. I plan to put it up on eBay in a few
weeks.
