Thanks for the replies gents. As I noted, I've been more into RC planes and
subs and a little bit into boats and cars but my younger brother has been an
armor fan for years but not RC. He's been to Aberdeen a few times and raves
about it. I'll see if he wants to go with me for the 4th Annual winter
build. I'm leaning towards a destroyer-type vehicle. I like the Hetzer,
Jagdpanther or Sturmtiger for relative ease of build of the upper hull at
least. I mentioned that I'm going to order the Heng Long 1/16 Tiger I and
my brother is ordering their Preshing so that we can have some fun now. .
Seems like fun to have something to shoot at. Both are airsoft-type 6mm BB
shooters. I was worried about the quality but I have an online friend that
has one and he loves it. Are they too small for us to bring to the winter
build to show?

If I can find a nice set of plans for a tank I'll probably go with a metal
frame for mounting the running gear and a plexiglass hull as I have a big
sheet of plexi just taking up space in the garage. I'm going to go through
my brother's collection of unbuilt models and see if he has any of the tanks
that I mentioned and use one of those as a pattern. I have a friend whose
company makes aluminum contractor tool boxes for trucks who has offered to
teach me to weld aluminum. Would an aluminum hull be overkill? (Overkill
is good right?!)

Amir, if you read this chime in. We're probably not located too far from
one another. I'm located very near to Princeton University; about 30
minutes or so from downtown Philly.

Thanks again,
Mike
