Steve,
1:6 scale RC "paintball shooting" combat tanks,
very interesting idea...a lucrative mid-life career change also sounds
interesting.
Given what is on the market in the range of $3000
to $5000 for a complete 1:6 scale combat tank, I'am thinking $750 to
$1250 for the complete kit.
Options/upgrades, considering what I'd pay, the
limited market and what the market would pay, my best guess for prices would be
as follows:
-sprocket drive TTS(without tracks); $175
- $225
-suspesion kit; $25 - $40
-turret kit(including marker and tank); $150 -
$200
-turret cover; $75 - $100
-chassis cover; $75 - $150
This would help alot as many people lack the skills
and tools to undertake "scratch-building" a 1:6 RC combat tank. I work
part-time at the LHS and it is rare to actual sell a "kit" or have people
undertake "scratch-building" a RC boat or airplane kit. Most modellers want
the ARF's or RTF models.
Years ago, when family priorities demanded my
hobby funds be spent on necessities, I had a similar idea, manufacture RC model
airplane kits. Well, I did earn enough $ to support my habit, but if you
consider wages I was earning about $3/hr.
Hope this is of some help.
