All:
I wrote to the list a while back about getting ahold of some "free" used
conveyor chain. This stuff has been used for bottling Gatorade in Pheonix
AZ and has been taken out of service because the wearing surfaces have
polished and this somehow causes the bottles to tip over. Or
something. I'm not quite clear on the details.
Anyway, I've just accepted responsibility for about 400 feet of 4" wide
conveyor chain that should work very well as tracks. It's not here yet,
but here are some pictures of it. It is perfectly flat on one side for
good rolling, and very Panzerish-looking on the other side for
attitude/traction. There are no bells (teeth-like things) but they would
be easy to add.
I am offering this stuff for the cost of shipping (from there to here in
bulk, and then from here to you) as a service to my fellow tank-heads. (I
will not profit from this escapade, and will in fact take it on the chin
from my wife, I'm sure). As soon as I know how much it will cost, I'll let
you know. In the mean time, anyone interested can email me
to "reserve" their chunk-o-track(TM).

Bill
