How much trouble would I cause if I asked you to prototype a M1A2 Track mold? Looking to make it out of one piece rubber. I figured a two piece metal/rubber pad combination, although realistic extremely High maintence. I have no experience with molding at all.

Hi Cris... the end caps are aluminum... I lucked out and found 400 or them at a surplus store... they were the right size and had holes driller in them.. You could use aluminum stock and cut them to the right width... then drill the holes and round the edges... No maintence problems yet.. track not finished but the tests have had great results.
The rods used in the molding are for the molding only.. then I use solid steel rods  or drill rod its called sometimes.. it works great.. I then force the rod into the end caps and use some thread lock to make sure they dont come out.   Hope this helps you out.. anything else just ask.     Garnet

I had a few questions about your molded track system. Do you have difficulties with track maintence? Are the rods in the molding process the ones used for assembly? and how do you make the endcaps for the sides of the tracks? Thanks
