Mine are only 3/8" Bart and I have no track problems. There are two
possibilities that are causing your thrown tracks:
#1) Not enough track tension (you'd be amazed how much is required to keep
a TTS system under the roadwheels in the rough stuff).
#2) Misaligned roadwheels. They don't need to be perfect, but if they're
off it can cause the tracks to walk themselves off. I had this problem with
T036 when I first got the tracks on it. Luckily, the nature of my
suspension system makes the road wheels naturally adjustable. Since you
aren't having this problem when it's driving in a straight line then I doubt
this is what's causing it.
Just thougth of one other thing...
#2a) Misaligned idler wheel. if there's any play in the idler wheel then
by applying track tension it will cause the wheel to "cock" to one side
which will also cause the track to walk itself off.
