I was trying to get started tonight drawing up a sprocket wheel and track links to match, but stopped.

I need to know how to figure out the circumference a circle. Can someone tell me how to? I know pi works into this, but don't know the math.

Also, I'm going to see if I got the money to pick up a wheel from the local (Sears) hardware store that I plan to use for one of the road wheels. It has a steel hub and bearing. The wheel does have a slight curve on the part that will be touching the tread, so when I have the link mastered up, I think I'm going to have him sand out the track link to match the wheel, this way, the hole wheel touches the tread and not so much just in the middle. I feel this will help prevent track problems further done the line.

Besides, I need the tire so I can pull accurate measurements and know where to position the guides, then I can work but how wide to make the sprocket wheel, and so on.

I think I should have maybe a 1/32" gap between the guide and the tire itself (each side total would be 1/16"), doe this should about right?
