What about a 3 piece casting that is attached
together after??? Or see if one mold can be configured to produce a piece
that can be bolted together in any number of widths???

Subject: Re: [TANKS] resin treads and
wheels
Well, I was just having a thought about the
sprocket wheel. I have to get some time tomorrow and draw something up so I
can measure out for a track link length and then draw them up.
Now for
the sprocket wheel, I was thinking of making the teeth themselves a bit
heavier than normal and then another thought hit me........ (well not really
hit me) since these are toys rather than exact replicas why not modify the
sprocket wheel a bit more. rather than having two raised rings (or what ever
you want to call it) with the teeth on them, why not have 3? make the 3rd one
be right in the middle? it would reduce the stress rather than having 2 teeth
pulling on each track, there would be 3.
Now all I have to do is figure
out how to cast it if it where to be made like that.
What's your
thoughts on that idea?
