What a revolting development that is. With out seeing the gear I would be
skeptical about drilling it for a pin myself.
The surface is usually hardened so you have to grind a spot to get
below that layer so the drill will work. where are you located? I'm near
Kansas City, Mo.

Hi Randy.. I went to several different places and
no luck welding the one way bearing.. the only option the guys said was to
drill a whole though it all and put a pin in it... not sure about that
though.... I will keep in touch. Garnet

I really would like to know. It sounds like it would be the answer if a
transmission ever showed up on the market. Like a steering differential

Hi Randy.. the welding of the shaft only
makes the shaft stay out... the one way bearing is within the big gear in
the middel.. I am going to take it to a garage that works on the
starters and see if they can change it.. the motor has lots of
torque because of the gearing. so if I get one working it would be
great.. I will let you know what I find out.
