If you have a power mitersaw and some plywood you can make wheels all day for next to nothing.

I was just thumbing a wood working catalog (Rockler) and saw a listing for wooden wheels with non-slip rubber tires. The wheels come in 2 different styles, Mag Style (has 6 holes) and Original (no holes). they come with special skid-free rubber tires that fit onto the wooden wheels.

4 wheels per set

Mag wheels                            set          10+ sets
98021     1 1/4" dia .............. $4.99 ......... $4.49
98039     1 1/2" dia .............. $5.69 ......... $5.12
98047      2" dia ..................  $7.49 ........  $6.74

Original style
84525     1" dia.................... $3.69 ..........$3.32
84533     1 1/4" dia .............. $3.99 ......... $3.59
84541     1 1/2" dia............... $4.49 ......... $4.04
92007     2" dia.................... $6.49 ......... $5.84
13482     2 1/4" dia.............. $6.49 ......... $5.84

I know the last 2 listed are the same prices, but that's what they have listed in the catalog.

you can go to www.rockler.com to see or order them.

They also have other wooden wheels, but with no rubber tread plus one duel tire set that's only in 2 1/4 dia.
