The 10 degree limit is for safety purposes. 10 degrees may not sound like
much elevation but it still shoots farther than you can accurately aim.
Unless of course your "Dead Eye John Pittelli"!

No and Yes.

A 45 degree elevate angle is an ambitious goal. Your going to have to build
your turret mounting to allow for the rear of the marker to depress half
it's length below the pivot point (usually into the hull of the vehicle like
on the real thing). This is the way I built the T34 (tank T005) which uses
perimeter rollers to mount the turret instead of the usual lazy susan setup.
Even with the "novel turret mounting system" as Frank calls it. The T34's
max elevation is 12 degrees which I would limit to 10 degrees using the
servo adjustment on the Tx. My new tank will be using a different "novel
turret mounting system" (still no lazy susans) which will not allow
depression into the hull. I'm expecting a 6 degree elevate which is fine
for my in-your-face fighting style.
