Bill's tank uses relays in much the same way that the R/C tanks do. His
setup uses a joystick to switch the relays on and off rather than
controlling them remotely, but his H-bridge is going to be functionally
the same as the ones you see in all these other tanks. Short of holding a
handful of bare wires and rewiring the motors on the fly, there's no other
way to do it.
Well, I suppose you could use some old-fashioned blade switches, if you're
going for the Dr. Frankenstein look.
