Dear Sir,
Thank you for your recent inquiry regarding an official designation for
your Fred Simms' Tank Recovery Vehicle (FSTRV). The R/C Tank Combat
hobby thrives on the innovation of its members and Fred Simms continues
to push the technology envelope.
Unfortunately, however, you have applied for the wrong designation. The
FSTRV is clearly a Support Vehicle that has features that will be
invaluable on and off the battlefield. In fact, because of its beer
opening capabilities, the FSTRV has been classified as an Essential
Battlefield Support Vehicle (EBSV) by the North American R/C Tank
Battling Treaty (NARC-TBF) Section IV sub-section A paragraph 12 which
states that:
Any vehicle capable of hauling, acquiring, locating and/or
assisting with the consumption of beer will be deemed an
"essential" support vehicle.
This clause was added at the last minute to ensure that the Canadian
delegation would sign the final agreement.
In fact, not only does the FSTRV represent a perfect example of the
intention of that clause, but it may cause an invasion by the Northern
Barbarians into the Mid-Atlantic region in hopes of securing such a
valuable vehicle. Ironically, even though it is unarmed, the FSTRV
could be the most de-stabilizing and sought after vehicle in the hobby.
Therefore, at this time, we must reject your request for tank
designation T033.
