  Actually, I'm the only other dufus currently thinking of using wiper 
motors to power thier tank with.  And as I don't even *quite* have a rolling 
chassis yet I have very little "hands-on" experience with them.  What I will 
tell you is to think light, think VERY light.  The ones with the highest 
output RPM that I've yet tested are the worm-geared motors out of the 97+ 
Ford Crown victoria, and they only put out 120 - 140 RPM at the shaft 
(though I was going to fiddle around with boosting input voltage to 18v to 
see what happens).  This means that you're going to HAVE to use an overdrive 
gear ratio to bring the sprocket RPM up to something approaching reasonable. 
  This is going to rob you of torque that you will need for maneuvering so 
you simply have to minimize the amount needed (aka, light, Light, LIGHT!!!), 
and a few weight distribution tricks won't hurt at all either (like trying 
to concentrate as much weight over as small a span of track as possible).  
There was a previous letter on all the factors in torque required to "skid 
turn" (I think they're talking about a "pirouette" or a "nuetral turn", but 
I'm not sure).  Best of luck,
