Chris,
The brads are slightly recessed into the
rubber.
I used a flexible contact cement. Gets tacky but does
not totally harden. It's also waterproof. I've used
the same glue on convertible top rubber trim. Pretty
good stuff. I'm sure you can find some in an
automotive store.
