I don't think clamping the motor is a good idea , it is only held with 2 
very small screws and all the transmission tension/stress will be at the 
other end.
What I did was take apart the gearbox and remove the gears then drilled 3 
holes in the back of it and mounted it on a piece of wood which was then 
mounted in the tank.
