what the hell do you use to unscrew the collar that is over the flap toggle?  its 
got two notches but isn't a friendly shape?!  It seems there is a tool I am 
missing....

do I replace the toggle with something like this:

the toggle is 3-way, Do I (can I?) just connect two of the leads?
