Hi Rick have you thought of rolling aluminium plate? AlAluminiums workable when warmed up with a torch cut yoyourhShermanose first out of cardboard figure out what will work out best in shape and then transfer it to your aluminium plate  then lightly warm up the plate with a torch uuntilpply ablethen roll it over a pipe then pull the middle section in (punched in part) then cut fill in parts to mate with outer (curved part) then use a Tig welder or Mig set up for aluminium  I guess you could do this all with steel just a little harder to work with  anyway nice to hear another Sherman is in the works ! good luck cheers Robert Currie

Anyone have experence scratchbuilding the cast nose on
a Sherman tank? The curved part should be easy but the
punched in part is a little tougher.

Thanks,
Rick
