I've never used Titebond for that purpose before, but Steve "Dr. Wood"
Tyng swears by it and he knows his stuff when it comes to wood.
A couple coats of polyurethane will also do the trick and if you use
water-based poly it dries quickly, cleans up easily and doesn't generate
toxic fumes. My wife's shower surround is made of wood panels sealed
with 3 coats of poly and it has shown no signs of water penetration in
over 5 years.
As far as sealing your tracks, if you didn't seal the treads before you
put them together, go can still protect them fairly well by sealing them
now. The sealer will seap into the seams and keep water from doing the
same.
Seal everything that doesn't move and oil everything that does!!
