I was thinking of clamping it between two boards and putting a lot of weight on it -
maybe break the process into 4 or 5 sections. So its not clamping each peice but
you're definitely right about the sliding part.

Many thanks for the offer, I want my next trip to be made with a running tank - on
the other hand MD isn't too far.
