Thanks Joe, It's always nice to know what didn't work before starting from
scratch.

Subject: wireless video for gun cameras

Steve Tyng and I both mounted wireless video
cameras in our tanks prior to the Battle in the
Badlands. Unfortunately, the rough terrain and
lack of suspensions killed both cameras.

I tried again and mounted a new wireless video
camera in the Hetzer before the Bon Voyage Battle.
Although the camera survived both battles, the
antenna did not have enough range to record
battle footage on the large (and nasty) battlefield.

However, I was able to record some footage from
the gun camera on a VCR and digitize it into two
MPG's that Frank has posted with the other Bon
Voyage Battle videos. I also digitized several
still images that are posted under Miscellaneous.

Currently, I am dubious that wireless video will
allow us to target our guns because video frame
rates (30 Hz) are not fast enough to see paint
balls flying down range. I will continue trying.

Joe
