Naa, see, you just have to go about it the right way. As in, make her 
think it was her idea.

Want to buy an airplaine? No problem... tell her you want a helicopter. 
After she rails about that for a few weeks, all you have to do is plant 
the seed and act really upset. In no time she'll be suggesting that you 
get an airplane instead.

I don't catch any flack from my wife for wanting to build a huge tank. 
In fact, she likes the idea. Why? Because it means my son won't be 
wanting one of those "dangerous 4x4 scooters" anytime soon. Her only 
stipulation is that I have to build a treehouse first.
