I printed up the IS-3M I got from one of you fellas and then enlarged it so the hull
would be 4ft long. The approx. 1/8 scale IS-2M dimensions are 48" long, 22" wide,
and 17" tall from the bottom of the tracks to the top of the cupola. The tracks are
4.25" wide with 4" road wheels. Minus the cupola hatch the turret is 5.5" tall and
20" in diameter. In my estimation this is far bigger than needed and was then
downsized to approx. 1/10 scale. Now it is 38" long, 17.5" wide, and 13" tall minus
the cupola hatch. The turret is then 16" wide and 4.5" tall (minus the cupola). The
tracks are 3.5" wide with 3" road wheels. 1/10 scale seems far more manageable.
However I would like some opinions on whether or not this is a good tank to build.
It has a massive gun (122mm) and thick armor (hull front is 120mm). My only worry is
the turret size/shape. Is it workable?

P.S. I am in the Navy and ship out to great lakes (for basic) next summer and will
reside in Charleston S.C. after that for about 1.5 years during which I hope to be
able to battle with you all
P.P.S. I also would like to know how wide these road wheels are. From what I can see
each arm has 2 road wheels and the track overlaps the wheels by about their own
width on each side plus there is a space inbetween the wheels for the tracking tabs.
So should I just pick some widths that work and go with it or what? What kind of gap
is needed between the wheels for the tracking tabs... 3/8" with 1/4" tabs.
