Siggy/all
My Hetzer has had little driving [20 minutes ? ] but the track has already
had it's first overhaul.
This is what I did
1) new coat of paint - looking for something more durable on the outside
so I have tried Hammerite
2 one lose tooth fixed [ ? ] with glue gun
3) drive rubbers ripped off [ did not follow Steve's advice to the letter
Doh !] this prompted the overhaul
this was fixed by finding some tubing [ polypropylene ? ] that is used
for routing telephone cables underground this stuff is incredible !
It is so hard it can be cut on a 10" bench saw and you cannot nail
through it.
It is glued to the wooden road wheel with a 2 part epoxy and then for
the drive I bought 4 vacuum cleaner drive belts [ cost £6.00 for
4 nearly broke my heart !] and these are glued on with
contact adhesive , hot glue would not stick to the rubber.
If they show signs of moving then I will drill and nail then.
regards paul
