Correct.  However you had to make your track
length some integer multiple of tread spacing.

With bike tires, we would get track
lengths at integer multiples of PI.
25 inch DIA tire = 78.5 inch track
26 inch DIA tire = 81.7 inch track
27 inch DIA tire = 84.8 inch track

The real problem is keeping the darn things
squarely under the road wheels during
full-skid turns in tall grass.
