Actually, I have. I allready made a ring on a lathe and sawn it in 16
pieces, to fit in the slot of the drivewheel. My concern however is that
this is not a durable option. We are talking about plastic inserts for the
drivewheel and plywood bells glued and screwed to the track (but these could
be replaced by plastic ones as well, bolted instead of screwed). I am
affraid that it won't last very long, because they will be exposed to quite
heavy forces doing neutral turns and skid steering off road.
On the other hand, I like the tracks I made, they are quite light for their
size (8 kilo's per track, 3.5 meters long), there won't get anything stuck
between the pads, and it took a freaking effort to build them. Also the
material for the drivewheels was quite expensive, so if possible I would
like to keep those. When changing to chain & sprocket drive, I could easily
take a chain wheel and mount it on my drive wheel.
Just considering some options now, before I go on creating like a madman...
Regards,
Marc

spaced to fit between the inside pieces may do the trick. This is assuming
that your inside pieces are glued to the belting material.
