Hi Paul,

I've got a complete wheelchair drive configuration in my current tank project (T028, proud to say!!) and I think wheelchair motors are quite heavy and large for the job in a 1:6 scale tank. The second thing is that I am thinking of building a light tank, like the Swedish S-tank and that would ask for small components.
As I said earlier, I am now gathering components and reading all the good stories about the EV Warriors kind of pushed me into this direction.
Also I made some inquiries for Unichain belts (Intralox' rival) and sprockets. Looks very good, but quite expensive. We're talking 180 euros (about 120 pounds) for the lot, that means 6,1 meters (they come in quantities of 10 ft) of belt and 4 sprockets. The type of belt is similar to the Joe's Hetzer Intralox belt.
You are right about the gearing down thing, I just like the shape of the EV and the measurements combined with its capabilities makes it an attractive motor.

To the TNT-members: is there a specialised R/C-shop in Holland where I can go to and be informed about R/C stuff like transmitters and so on?

Regards,

Marc
PS: I added a few photos of my project at www.commandojurre.nl

Marc

While EV warriors are the motor of choice in the US they are not necessary the best choice of motor.
They were the motor of choice in the US because they were very powerful and freely available on the surplus market at very cheap prices.
Against them they need gearing down this takes up space and may cost as much as the motors

In Europe they are not really a option , but there are several good if not better alternatives.
Wheel chairs , mobility scooters . electric golf caddies/trolleys [need 2 of these ] if bought secondhand they come with integral gearboxes saving money and space and some even have suitable speed controllers and if you are luckily a battery and charger to get you going.
As most are designed to carry 12 stone plus they are ideal for a tank.

regards paul

I have been checking Ebay and other sites on the internet but I doubt if EV Warriors are available in Europe and shipping then from the states will be quite expensive.
Does anybody know if there is a European agent for these motors, because I am thinking of buying two for my paintball tank.
Second question: if we can't get them here, are there any more european tankers that would like to buy EV Warriors (to share shipping costs) and would anyone in the US be so kind to try to trace a few and send them over?
