We've never measured with a tape, but we've seen some long-range shots
hit from about 100 feet away more or less. Although some battlers are
well-known for such long-range gunnery, most battlers prefer shooting
from closer range (where the hit ratios are higher), so most hits are
probably scored in the 30-50 foot distance. Of course, there are also a
significant number of shots scored within 10 feet when tanks are in
restricted areas, one has broken down or two tanks are at a face-off.

We have the best of both worlds. All messages sent to the mailing list
are archived and browsable/searchable from the Web at:

        http://www.rctankcombat.com/archive/

Members can submit and receive messages to the mailing list and read
them with their email tool (the default), or they can opt to simply
submit messages and read them using the Web interface. (If anyone wants
to be in the "submit only" category, just let me know privately.)

And as far as newbies coming and going, that's not unusual for a mailing
list of our size. In fact, we have very little turnover considering the
size of our list. Most people who join stay on for a long time.
