I think thats what I'm going to have to do. I got that idea reading "Hardware
Hacking Projects." They suggested stringing D-cells together. I like your idea of
getting a ready made rechargeable more though.
Unfortunately with the new laptops its more difficult - for example dell makes a
proprietary port for the charger, so you at least have to buy an overpriced charger
or open the back of it.
