Welcome aboard, Jonathan. With your mechanical design background, it
sounds like you'll fit well with our motley gang of modelers and
battlers. Yes, one of the strengths of our hobby is the diversity of
design solutions, most of which have been battle proven. There is no
single way to solve every problem and people continually improve on the
solutions. What tank are you considering?
Also, we have a number of battlers in your area, and I'm sure they'll
speak up and let you know where they are. If you can swing by and meet
with them, that's the fastest way to get started.
Hope to see you on the battlefield one day.
