Their holding up better than I expected. There was a little bit of peeling
on one of the joints but a cleanout and another application of Goop glue set
the rubber back in place. The nylon bushings appear to be looser on the
shaft compared to last year but I'm not sure.

Yes, I used an angled scarp joint.

Yes.
