I'm pretty sure if you soak the moters in WD-40, they'll rust whether you
expose them to water or not. It's a water-based lubricant designed to get
into and break up rust. It's not a sealant.

My understanding on these is that all the electronics are in a waterproof
box within the hull. Nothing electrical gets wet unless something goes
particularly wrong. However, there are plenty of people here who know
more about the hobby than I do, seing as this hobby was invented by a
group of RC warship people. :)
