I've used both approaches (4 different versions in total) in the Tiger
and they both have their advantages. A servo is easier to install and
provides proportional positioning. A motorized control can be made much
stronger and therefore can be mounted in different places in the
turret. In both cases, you'll want to counter-balance the gun with some
springs to make the elevate mechanism smoother and to dampen shocks to
the system.
